Direct or indirect payment?

A little information for those that are interested.

I recently added a ppp direct little (well not so little) graphic on my site and it allows advertisers a way to get a post bought directly. PPP is a way of getting blogging sites some extra money. PPP direct is a direct way of doing this - they provide the middle 'man' to the extent that your money is guaranteed and they manage things. The opportunities are added to your personal page on the ppp website so it's all official. My cost is $5 a post (how cheap!) since this is not the busiest of sites (not sure if anyone visits at all) but check out the ppp blog site direct amount... $500!!! very impressive, non?

How this works is that an advertiser is browsing through blogs and reading bits and pieces here and there. If they would like me to write something about them then they click on the 'hire me' image/link and then make me an offer. The benefit of ppp over other similar sites is that the mark up on ppp is a lot less than on the other ones. 50% to 100% on rival advertising through blogging sites whereas ppp is only at 35%. When using ppp direct the markup is only 10% of which half is admin costs.

If they see you as the Ace of Pentacles

I came across this query in search for this site so I'd like to take the opportunity to address the question.

The ace of pentacles is the first card of the earth suit and is associated with fertility. Your actions towards any event would have consequences and provide feedback. The card in the Radiant RWS deck shows a hand offering a pentacle and a gate covered with flowers at the end of the path. Here is an opportunity being handed to you although you have to be able to reach out and take the offering.

If someone sees you as the ace of pentacles they realise that you are grounded and full of potential. They envisage that an investment in some sense could be made with you and you are probably an older person with a lot to give.

When you draw this card for how someone sees you then it may be a good idea to see what needs the other person sees you as meeting. Some potentials could be physical, partnership, functional, utilitarian, career progression etc. Babies is a big potential here as well.

Someone else's tarot reading

The video is an example of a celtic cross tarot readings - the positions are slightly different to what I use but they are very common. I don't think it is a brilliant reading but that is mainly because I believe that they have kept it short in order to provide the video itself. If you don't know what a tarot reading is or haven't had one then go ahead and check - it's interesting.

Tarot in music form and not about cards

In pursuit of more interactive and colourful additions to this site I thought that I would add a video or two. I first sought out tarot related youtube vids and came across the band Tarot. The song is quite good - see what you think.

A friend is having an appraisal today so I asked the cards how will the appraisal be/go?

I drew death - ace of pentacles - 9 of wands
9 of pentacles

Death shows something inevitable and it could be the end of partnership. The situation is already difficult and there's a lot of hard work involved. The ace of pentacles signifies a new opportunity but the new opportunity could be seen as just too much hard work. This person wants to work for themselves and not have anyone tell them what to do. Communication does not appear in these cards so someone is blatantly not feeding back what is expected of them. The fire and earth cards are near the end of their cycle so there is something coming to a close. There could be a return to a stronger structure. I think an offer will be made for this friend to do more work for more money but it could be turned down.

Laura's request from January

Laura, Sorry about not responding to your request - it was about a guy you were seeing. I disappeared for a while and just couldn't do anything practical. Sorry about that.

Perhaps it's better late than never even though you may not stumble across this site again... I drew a couple of cards for you and that relationship.

Patience (7 of pentacles) and Stress (7 of wands)

Patience
We have forgotten how to wait; it is almost an abandoned space. And it is our greatest treasure to be able to wait for the right moment. The whole existence waits for the right moment. Even trees know it--when it is time to bring the flowers and when it is time to let go of all the leaves and stand naked against the sky. They are still beautiful in that nakedness, waiting for the new foliage with a great trust that the old has gone, and the new will soon be coming, and the new leaves will start growing. We have forgotten to wait, we want everything in a hurry. It is a great loss to humanity.... In silence and waiting something inside you goes on growing--your authentic being. And one day it jumps and becomes a flame, and your whole personality is shattered; you are a new man. And this new man knows what ceremony is, this new man knows life's eternal juices.

There are times when the only thing to do is to wait. The seed has been planted, the child is growing in the womb, the oyster is coating the grain of sand and making it into a pearl. This card reminds us that now is a time when all that is required is to be simply alert, patient, waiting. The woman pictured here is in just such an attitude. Contented, with no trace of anxiety, she is simply waiting. Through all the phases of the moon passing overhead she remains patient, so in tune with the rhythms of the moon that she has almost become one with it. She knows it is a time to be passive, letting nature take its course. But she is neither sleepy nor indifferent; she knows it is time to be ready for something momentous. It is a time full of mystery, like the hours just before the dawn. It is a time when the only thing to do is to wait.

Stress

All private goals are neurotic. The essential man comes to know, to feel, "I am not separate from the whole, and there is no need to seek and search for any destiny on my own. Things are happening, the world is moving--call it God...he is doing things. They are happening of their own accord. There is no need for me to make any struggle, any effort; there is no need for me to fight for anything. I can relax and be." The essential man is not a doer. The accidental man is a doer. The accidental man is, of course, then in anxiety, tension, stress, anguish, continuously sitting on a volcano. It can erupt any moment, because he lives in a world of uncertainty and believes as if it is certain. This creates tension in his be-ing: he knows deep down that nothing is certain.

Commentary:

How many people do you know who, just when they were completely overloaded, with too many projects, too many "balls in the air", have suddenly come down with the flu, or taken a fall and ended up on crutches? That's just the sort of "bad timing" the little monkey with the pin in his hand is about to impose on the "one-man-band" pictured here! The quality of stress represented by this card visits all of us at times, but perfectionists are particularly vulnerable to it. We create it ourselves, with the idea that without us nothing will happen--especially in the way we want it to! Well, what makes you think you're so special? Do you think the sun won't rise in the morning unless you personally set the alarm? Go for a walk, buy some flowers, and fix yourself a spaghetti dinner--anything 'unimportant' will do. Just put yourself out of that
